So this happened a few days ago but I haven't really had time to breathe, let alone blog. I have 4 projects (2 of which are presentations) and 2 quizzes due in 4 days.... This has, and will continue to be, a rough week until Friday when almost everything will be done and I can just release all of my built up stress. I am almost done with 2 of the projects though which is good. It just sucks that I haven't had any time to really hoop. I guess I do but I'm the type of person where I get stressed if I know I have a whole bunch to get done in a short amount of time and even though I probably do, and should, have time to de-stress but I just never do because I just want to get everything done. But starting Friday I can hoop almost all I want because I just have a couple more quizzes in Spanish and then a paper to write for my online class. But I am getting off topic. So Thursday in my Interpersonal Communication class, we did a little activity where we got into groups and had to randomly pick either the letter Y or the letter X. Depending on what the other groups picked was how many points your group gained or lost. There were rounds where you could talk to the other groups and negotiate with them what letter to choose. The goal was to get the highest positive amount of points to which first place got 5 extra credit points second got 4 and so forth. But there was a catch: Any group that tied for first place would both get the 5 extra credit points. The first round one of the groups ended up losing 300 points while the 3 other groups had a positive amount of points. On the second round we could all talk to each other and someone came up with an idea to make every group tie for first in the end thus everyone in the class gets the 5 extra credit points. A lot of people were skeptical about whether people would actually go through with it (especially on the last round where one group had the ability to screw everyone over and take the points for themselves) but in the end everyone cooperated and we all got the 5 extra credit points. After we were done the professor told us that that has only happened 3 times in the 15 years that she has been doing this activity with her classes! It is just amazing the trust that people can have for others that they don't really know that well. I am so blessed to have been able to be a part of that positivity because again, this has just proven to me that people are good. We were all able to put aside our egos and greedy, competitive natures to come together and help one another. It made for a pretty good end to my class. Well, it's time for homework. There will be a lot more updating once I get everything done for my classes. Good vibes lovelies!
