So I have been working on the vertical elbow pass for about 6 or 7 months now and I was finally able to do it today!! This is a screen shot from the video that I took of me doing it. When I had my first hoop I was able to do it inconsistently but ever since I got my polypros I haven't been able to do it. I was almost about to give up on it for awhile (I haven't really worked on it for a couple months now) but I decided to give it one last try and somehow I did it! I dropped my hoop almost immediately after I got it to my other elbow because I was just in shock that I actually did it. So I practiced it a few more times just to make sure that it wasn't a fluke before I tried to record it. I was able to do it every time I tried but of course it took me a couple tries to get it on video. I did it though! It is on my Instagram if you guys would like to check it out. It's obviously not consistent but it usually takes me a couple months of constantly practicing a trick for me to get it consistent. It's such a great feeling to continue growing as a hooper even after almost 9 months! I remember looking back on videos of hoopers on YouTube when I first started and thinking that I'd never be able to do any of it. I really don't think I could describe this feeling but it actually brings me to tears (happy tears of course) just thinking about it. And in this moment I am just so proud of all that I have accomplished as a hooper. I also love that my hooping has inspired others. Someone commented on this video actually that it inspired here with her hooping. It is so humbling to have someone look up to you in that way. I think that is one reason that I love teaching so much. I am currently not teaching because they wanted to give me a break while I get used to my new job but I'm getting excited to start again. I think my classes start back up around July 7th or so. I can't wait! But I should probably get some sleep. Later lovelies!
